Overclocking means that you use your hardware beyond of its max power.
This can cause serious troubles if you don't know how to do it.
And depends, it can help you and it maybe doesn't have many effects...depends on the game and the overclock power...

Shortly about overclock...I have a 3.0GHZ stock speed CPU, but I overclocked it and now my CPU is at 4.5GHZ. This is what overclocking means.

@sujith s you cant compare 4 gb ddr2 with 2 gb ddr3. obviously the ddr2 will be better as more physical memory is available.
dd3 rams have higher clock speeds, max available in ddr2 is 800mhz. whereas dd3 rams start at 1333mhz so the speed advantages are higher for the same amount of memory.

Depends on your motherboard and CPU!
There's only a latency and clock speed difference.
"Gaming" RAM is preferred if you do ovcerclock....if not, then you can just go with the simple corsair modules. They have good quality stuff.
