Rime is an open-world adventure and puzzle game from Tequila Works. It was initially a PlayStation exclusive. But now it has been re-revealed for PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch and is set to release in May 2017. You can watch the trailer below:
Rime has quite an interesting history of its development. In the beginning, the game was actually offered to Microsoft as an Xbox Live Arcade exclusive title. Although being initially greenlit by Microsoft, it was later rejected due to "a mismatch with Microsoft's Xbox One XBLA publishing policies". And then, Sony approved a development budget for the studio and thus Rime became an PlayStation exclusive. So, it was revealed at Gamescom 2013 as a PlayStation exclusive. But in the last quarter of 2016, reports claimed that Tequila Works has reacquired its IP from Sony. And now, it's finally scheduled to release as a multi-platform title. The devs describe the game as "a single-player puzzle adventure about discovery, experienced through the eyes of a young boy who awakens on a mysterious island after shipwrecking off its coast. Players must navigate the island’s secrets by making use of light, sound, perspective and even time. Inspired by the rugged, sunbaked terrain of the Mediterranean coast, Rime paints its breathtaking world with a fusion of vibrant colors and moving musical undertones to set the stage for the deeply personal journey that awaits within."
