A Plague Tale: Requiem reviews

My verdict on this game: Not impressed. Everything about this sequel just goes to prove that MORE isn't always BETTER. Innocence was awesome. Its linear gameplay and mechanics were progressive, straightforward, and engaging. With Requeim, ASOBO Studio failed to nail these 3 elements which pretty much defined the first game. This led to a game that feels too scripted, eg. having acquired abilities that were often restricted in many locations. This game would've been better off as a movie or a novel, than a game. I uninstalled Plague Tale 2 after having played through to Chapter 9 as by that point, I'd completely lost all feeling and joy of actually playing a video game and felt more like I was just pressing buttons to get the story moving (& which IMO is totally weaker than the first game's). Will not be going back to it.

Amazing game. If you didn't play "A Plague Tale: Innocence", please don't play Requiem and do review. The game is great. If you follow up the full story and do the full game to understand what exactly has been going on from the first game to the very beginning of this part. I won't say anything here that can be a "spoiler alert", so just if you want to have an great game overall with amazing story trust me, get A Plague Tale: Innocence, complete it and then do Requiem as it is in my honest and humble opinion top 10 stories I've played EVER. Not only in last few years. 10/10. Be advised the system requirements are accurate and the game is not "badly optimized", but just has higher system requirements compared to majority of games being released lately, for example look at Uncharted or Scorn or even popular COD MW2.
