Play the first location of HITMAN for free
by SamX, 2017. June 20., news

After announcing few days ago that IO-Interactive has gone independent and retains all of the rights to their Hitman IP, today they revealed a free demo version of HITMAN. This will grant you full access to the entire first location, The ICA Facility.

"I'm proud to announce that our first hello as an independent studio is to invite all gamers to play the beginning of HITMAN for free. There is a lot of love out there for HITMAN and with this offering we hope that many more will fall in love with the game. We believe that this is Hitman at its best. So jump in and give a try."– Hakan Abrak, CEO Io-Interactive.

The free download will be live on Steam at about 6PM CEST today, June 20. The download includes everything ever released for that location; "two story missions (including all cut-scenes), two Escalation Contracts, more than 40 challenges, 17 achievements and trophies, plus thousands of player-created missions in Contracts Mode".

If IO wants to stay independent than it's a bad move for them and Hitman. Big loss for Square Enix too. Now, let's see if Ubisoft is willing to buy IO team and their IP.

As for "free Hitman" it's just a demo, and not free anymore at all. Bad marketing by IO Interactive.
