Since you wrote that you are still looking for the "perfect game", I will give a couple of suggestions: Half-Life 1, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (both the previous games, witcher 1 & 2, are required to get the most out of it).
@SamX: Thanks Sam - I cannot play FPS games, because I get motion sickness after only 5 minutes. There are so many fun games I wish I could play, but I give up on it. As far as I remember, Half life is FP? I go check it out. The Witcher too. Thanks for your suggestions 😀
@Tjoes: Even I had that problem at the very start of my gaming journey. And now that I look back, Half-Life is both the best and the worst FPS to have as a starter to someone prone to this condition, simply because how immensely immersive it is.
Towards the beginning the amount of dizziness I had after merely an hour was enough to force me to lay down for at least half an hour to rejuvenate. But I didn't give up, hell, even I got motivated even more to finish it. I kept pushing, slowly increasing my playtime. And since it was my first-ever FPS campaign (and one of the very first games in general), I was still learning how to properly play, to properly handle the mouse and keyboard. It was difficult, a long challenging journey. And that's what made it extra special.
Now, 10 years later, I've completely defeated motion sickness. I play all kinds of games for 8+ hours on a daily basis without even breaking a sweat. With CS:GO, a FPS, being the centrepiece of my gaming life.
@SamX: I have been playing since "Doom" was new 😉 - That was the first game that made me sick. After 5 minutes I sit on the bathroom floor, trying not to throw up. Maybe I give up too easy and I have read, you need to expose yourself over and over to it. I did play Half-life in the good old days, but did not like it then.
@SamX: I see that I may have a hard time running Witcher 3. But I am used to my old, crappy PC playing on low settings. for me it's the gameplay and not the graphics that matter
