Used Seagate for 15 years, believe me Seagate is worst. WD, Hitachi, HGST and Toshiba.

using Toshiba from last 8 years still never failed whereas Seagate starts jumping in 2 years, used more than 8 HDD of seagate and had very bad experience. I also have one 160GB WD, failing from last 3 years but no data loss or crash, still working - total 6 years.

Never trust seagate. Believe me I have played with lots of HDD over past 15 years. I bought a new seagate in 2012 and same week I transfered all important data into it as it was my new HDD, after completion of transfer the very next day my PC didn't start after checking everything I found that bloody seagate new HDD is dead, not taking power at all. When I went to stores they said company can replace it under warranty, wtf! what about my data?
There is only one way to recover it and that is vacuum assembly costing around 20-30k ?????
or Seagate will do that for me at 330$ ?????

This is my personal experience.

I now have:
1- Samsung 750 EVO SSD 250 GB
2- Hitachi 500 GB
3- WD 160 GB
4- ADATA 1TB Portable
5- ADATA 1TB Portable
6- WD Elements 2TB Portable
7- WD My Book 4TB Portable

Samsung 840 EVO 250 GB is great indeed,
but if it comes to HDD , I would rather go for Toshiba or Hitachi, they are more reliable. WD only for storage with an external dock.
