Ubisoft officially unveils Rayman Legends Retold

Rumors of a Rayman revival have been circulating for years, and now Ubisoft has finally made it official. During the latest PlayStation State of Play showcase, the publisher revealed Rayman Legends Retold, a reimagining of the beloved 2013 platformer. The game is set to launch on October 1, 2026.
More than a simple remaster, Rayman Legends Retold introduces a number of significant changes. Players can expect fully voiced cinematics, expanded storytelling, and for the first time in the series, Rayman himself will have spoken dialogue.
Visually, the remake takes the franchise in a new direction. While preserving the fast-paced platforming that made the original a fan favorite, Retold replaces the classic hand-drawn presentation with a modernized 2.5D experience enhanced by detailed 3D visuals and environments.
The soundtrack is also receiving special attention, with composers Christophe Héral and Grant Kirkhope contributing an expanded musical score for the remake.
Based on everything shown so far, Rayman Legends Retold appears to be a substantial reimagining rather than a straightforward visual upgrade. With Ubisoft investing heavily in the return of the franchise, fans will be hoping that this project marks the beginning of a new era for Rayman and potentially paves the way for entirely new entries in the series.
