In a 32bit system you can't use more or even 4GB of RAM that;s why you can use only 3 for now.
That's because in 32bit the max amount can be only 2^32 which is approximately 3.5GB.
If you have a GPU that is lower than 1GB you can use up to 3 to 3.5GB of RAM. If you have a 1GB or greater GPU you can only use up to 2.3 to 2.8GB of RAM.
Keep in mind that for 64bit 4GB RAM is the minimum, so if you do want to use all of your RAM then you can go ahead and upgrade, but if you're OK like this and don;t see any drawbacks you can stay with 32bit.
It's a matter of choice, so you can decide. 😀
