BIOS Updates are always welcome if they are released and confirmed by the manufacturers itself, and not on some other website.
It's a good option to update if you know how to do it, because it can bring and most of the time it really does bring security updates and compatibility updates.
But just as tomcat3 said, do it only if you know how to and at your own risk.

No they aren't.... BIOS crashes don't have anything to do with windows files and or HDD formats.... BSOD and BIOS crash screen have nothing in common.
