I didn't said that he has a pirated one....
I said only if all the solutions that I mentioned fail for him, only then he has a cracked/pirated copy...
Because if you buy a game and install everything that came with it from the disk and you have all your drivers up to date, then you should be able to play without errors....
But if you are unable to run the game despite that you have a good enough system with everything installed and up to date then it's more then likely that you have a pirated copy which doesn't have a perfect crack yet to be able to run the game without errors!
There are many games that have crappy cracks that make the game to run slowly and laggy even if your PC is the most extreme one on the planet!
