DOOM's final paid expansion launched early
Bloodfall, the final paid expansion to id Software's DOOM has released ahead of schedule. It released today, December 14, on PC, PS4 & Xbox One. Bethesda made the announcement on Twitter, saying:
"We're feeling festive, so we're releasing the final #DOOM DLC early. #Bloodfall is available RIGHT NOW. — DOOM (@DOOM) 14 Dec, 2016"
Bloodfall is included in DOOM's $40 season pass and it can also be bought on its own for $15. This expansion adds 3 new maps, a new demon, a new grenade launcher and the Cultist armor. Empyrian, Boneyard and Outbreak are the maps which are being added.
The official site describes the maps as follows:
Empyrian – Fight in an ageless colosseum held aloft by opposing energies, as the gilded battlements slowly crumble
Boneyard – Battle in the outer realm of Hell, where the landscape is made entirely of demon flesh, teeth, and bone
Outbreak – Engage in intense combat throughout a UAC facility transformed after underworldly science breaks free from containment
The new demon is called Spectre Pinky. At first it may seem like a strange (and cute) name for a demon but you'll not think the same way after reading Bethesda's description. They said, "as the fast and heavily armored Pinky demon with Spectre abilities, stalk your enemies with invisibility, or bull rush to insta-gib all in your path".
Bloodfall also adds new Hack modules, Lateral Thrusters and 15 new customization patterns and colors. To know the details, visit Bethesda.net: Link
To promote and celebrate Bloodfall's release, a double XP weekend event has started, which will run through to December 19. During this time players will be rewarded with double XP in the game's multiplayer.
