These new generation processors like i3 nd i5 run on relatively low clock speed but they have more than i single core...their cache memory is higher nd by using intel turboboost they can achieve a high clock speed. I have intel core i5 @ 1.8 ghz nd it is easily running all latest games like most wanted, crysis 3 etc...

Yes, but he could get a higher end LGA775 socket CPU cheap, instead of investing in a new motherboard + a new CPU!
For example a good quality Core 2 Quad will do the trick just fine and like that he can save money too! 😀

you will posiblely need a new motherboard and fan as well
