I'm currently using Windows 10.
Seriously, Windows 10 is better and more popular than 8.1. If you have an almost old laptop and install Windows 8.1 on it, you can't run most of games usually, and yeah you can't disable Windows updates on Windows 10, but it isn't a problem to me. Windows 8.1 is just an unfinished feel of Windows 10.
As for Windows 7, it's a good OS but it's almost outdated and almost reached its end of support date, although it's still the most used Windows version, you have time to use it for 3 years and few months (until 2020).
no you don't need to download any direct x..
u can play any game in windows 10
if there is old game that you can't play on win 10..
just using windows compatibility mode
it is very stable been using it since it came out in July yes TH2 does improve the performance over the initial release.
yes AMD drivers under windows 10 are good new drivers expected 24th November AMD Crimson Drivers to replace Catalyst drivers for AMD radion HD 7000 or newer
I think Win10 still has a lot of issues, but hopefully the TH2 fixes the software/compatibility (and other) problems.
I want to try this sh!t soon, but I'm waiting for a really stable and trustable (?) OS.
@Flash_ yes, u r right, pirated games runs on Windows 10, my friend had runs farcry 4(pirated version) and dying light(pirated version) on window 10 but not able to run batman Arkham knight, and he had some software issue on Windows 10.
Windows 10 ( dx12 work better in amd card than nvidia) means dx12 games work better in amd cards(for next 2 years) and many of upcoming dx12 supported games are partnership with amd (as per official announced by amd) so bad for nvidia
I have not found any games that don't work yet
